As a Principal in the firm, Ernest’s primary role is to work with clients and their advisors to understand their goals and objectives and craft solutions to help achieve those goals. After a short stint at IBM, Ernest joined BEJS in 1989 and has been working with clients ever since. Ernest is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a member of the American Association of Life Underwriters (AALU).
Ernest grew up in Charlotte, graduated from Davidson College, and settled back in Charlotte to raise his family. Over his career, Ernest has served as a Board Member of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Junior Achievement, and the Mint Museum. He is an active member of First Presbyterian Church and has served as both a Deacon and an Elder.
When he is not at work, you might find Ernest on the golf course or at the bridge table. Ernest and his wife, Pam, have three children and two grandchildren. They especially enjoy their time at the South Carolina coast.
